Annual Report of Scottish Tribunals

The second annual report of The Scottish Tribunals, prepared by the President of the Scottish Tribunals, covering the period 1 April 2018 until 31 March 2019 has now been published. This can be found on their Annual Reports page.

The report identifies that in the period from 1 April 2018 until 31 March 2019, Applications to the 1st Tier Tribunal were received from 225 homeowners across Scotland. It is our understanding that there are currently in excess of 600,000 homeowners receiving factoring services throughout the country.  Whilst the report identifies that this reflects a 15% increase in the previous years Applications, having reviewed the tribunals previous report, the same identifies that 243 Applications were received in the 16 month period covering 1 December 2016 – 31 March 2018, reflective of a circa 7% reduction in the Applications received by the Tribunal in the last reported period.

In this same period, the Housing and Property Chamber website identifies that Applications have been received and accepted by 8 of our homeowner customers, with 6 of the 8 Tribunals finding the Applications to be without merit, the tribunals confirming they did not have jurisdiction or our services were delivered in keeping with our Terms of Service, the Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011 and its accompanying Code of Conduct for Property Factors.
