Stair Lighting Service – Glasgow Tenement Flats

Glasgow City Council has issued a letter to all Housing Associations and Factors highlighting potential damage to stair lighting installations within tenement flats across the city, currently maintained by the Council, by Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN)’s during work to replace lateral power cables throughout the City.

Whilst Glasgow City Council has alerted SPEN to this problem, damage unfortunately continues to occur resulting in any affected properties becoming suspended from the Council’s maintenance service. Glasgow City Council advise the only resolution to ensure continued maintenance through their programme is to upgrade the tenements’ electricity wiring at the homeowners’ expense.

Glasgow City Council asserts that everything will be done in an effort to keep costs to a minimum, and more detailed paperwork will be issued to affected homeowners.

To the best of our knowledge none of our homeowner customers have been affected by this issue however any homeowner who believes they may be, should contact us on 0141 248 5693 or alternatively log in to your My H&P Web Portal for details of your management team’s direct contact details.
