We’re delighted to celebrate Ryan Grant’s recent promotion to Team Manager at our Glasgow office. Since joining Hacking and Paterson Management Services, Ryan has demonstrated professionalism, drive, and a sincere commitment to client service, making this next step in his career a well-earned achievement.

Reflecting on his new role, Ryan described feeling both grateful and eager. He shared, “I’m grateful to have the opportunity to further develop and progress my career within HPMS, and I’m eager to dive into a completely new challenge—particularly the chance to assist and watch my team grow.” He’s always been passionate about delivering a valuable service to clients, and with property often being a person’s most significant investment, Ryan takes great satisfaction in helping people maintain their homes and protect what matters most.

One of the things Ryan is most excited about in his new role is creating an environment where his team can truly flourish. He spoke highly of the support he received from his previous managers Russell Stewart and Lauren McAloon, and he’s keen to provide that same encouragement to his own team. Ryan explained, “Rather than relying solely on calls and emails, I want clients to feel comfortable meeting with the team face-to-face and to know that we’re accessible, engaged, and always happy to help.”

His immediate goals include strengthening relationships with clients and understanding exactly what each homeowner values in a Property Manager so that he and his team can tailor their approach to meet the specific needs of each development. In addition, Ryan is preparing to sit the TPI Diploma examination, something he’s especially excited about. He shared, “Having studied Law at university—with a particular interest in Property Law—I’ve missed the challenge of focused academic study and am looking forward to gaining a recognised qualification that directly supports my role.”

Ryan is especially keen to grow his skills in team management, a key area of development for him. Known for being a positive spirit who brings out the best in others, he wants to inspire the Property Managers in his team to take pride in their work and feel confident in what they deliver. He said, “I’m eager to take a more hands-on approach with a larger district and aim to be a recognisable and approachable figure homeowners.” With an eye on the future, Ryan is committed to progressing his career within HPMS and is excited to contribute ideas that will support the success and ongoing development of the business.

When asked what he loves most about his job, Ryan was quick to credit the people. From fellow Team Managers and Property Managers to the HPMS directors, he values the strong support network and open-door culture that makes HPMS such a rewarding place to work. He noted, “The collaborative environment has played a key role in my development and has inspired me to foster the same kind of atmosphere in my own team.”

Over the course of his career, Ryan has learned the importance of staying curious and avoiding complacency. He firmly believes that continuous learning and self-reflection are vital to professional growth. Ryan shared, “Whether it’s adapting to new systems, seeking feedback, or challenging myself to step outside my comfort zone, I’ve found that progress always starts with an open mind and a willingness to grow.”

His advice to his younger self would be to be more confident. While he’s never been shy, he recognises the power of confidence in delivering exceptional service, building trust with clients, and inspiring belief in the team’s abilities. He said, “If I could tell my younger self anything, it would be to be more confident.”

Ryan’s journey into the industry began with his long-standing interest in property. After completing both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Law, he was uncertain about his next steps. When a role at HPMS came up, he applied based on his passion for property—even though he didn’t know much about factoring at the time. Since then, he’s built a solid understanding of the industry and developed a genuine love for the role. He explained, “I thrive on the problem-solving nature of the job and the satisfaction that comes from delivering great service.”

Outside of work, Ryan is working towards a major personal goal—becoming a homeowner. He shared, “I’m excited about the idea of creating a space that reflects who I am.” And in the long term? He dreams of seeing a whale in the wild. Having spotted dolphins for the first time while visiting Croatia, he’s hopeful that ticking off this lifelong dream isn’t too far off.

We’re thrilled to see Ryan stepping into this leadership role and look forward to everything he’ll achieve as Team Manager. His energy, empathy, and forward-thinking approach are exactly what HPMS is all about.

Congratulations, Ryan—from all of us at HPMS!
