Success Story – Alex Friel

alex friel

Our series of HPMS Success Stories continues with Alexandra Friel, another of our Glasgow Team Managers.

Having gained over 5 years’ hands-on administrative and customer service experience, Alex joined HPMS in 2016 as an Assistant Property Manager, kickstarting her exciting new career whilst still studying for her final university exams that same month, resulting in the achievement of an Honours degree in Business Management.

Just two years later, Alex was promoted to Team Manager in 2018, becoming one of HPMS’s then youngest Team Managers. Six years on, while Alex feels there is still so much to be gained from the role, one of her biggest achievements to date includes progressing her career alongside being a busy mum of two small children. Alex believes the support she has received from HPMS is unmatched and has allowed her to continue smashing her goals whilst raising her family. One such triumph is her attainment of The Property Institute’s Professional Diploma in Property Factoring, which Alex passed with flying colours this year, exceeding her personal exam score goal and achieving a mark of 84% .

Along with her team, Alex manages a busy district of different types of properties across the City Centre of Glasgow and beyond, and finds she gets a huge amount of satisfaction from her role. She says:

“The best bit about it for me personally is demonstrating great customer service and being a voice for those people who need us to be, who wouldn’t be able to achieve the results at their properties without our assistance.

It’s great to work with groups of owners who want to maintain their buildings, and even more rewarding to see a project through to completion.”

Alex is looking forward to continuing to progress her career with HPMS and, in the meantime, also helping her colleagues who are working towards their Professional Diplomas with study tips and ideas.

Away from the office, lots of family time helps Alex to unwind from her busy professional life!
