Property Managers Association Scotland Annual Conference

pmas 2022

We pride ourselves on setting high standards in everything we do and believe in the ongoing development of our people. Ensuring our dedicated teams continue to expand their industry-leading knowledge and experience allows them to deliver excellence to our customers.

Accordingly, we were delighted to send several of our factoring teams to the recent Property Managers Association Scotland (PMAS) Annual Conference. We are long term supporters of the PMAS and this year`s conference felt special as it was the first face-to-face conference held since 2019.

Our teams were updated and further educated on several important and topical issues including industry accreditation, the electricity market, cladding and personal welfare, with the various presenters delivering excellent and informative content.

The conference included presentations on the following from various Industry Professionals:

  • Jennifer Reoch TV and Radio Presenter – Host
  • Andrew Bulmer – The Institute of Residential Property Managers- Education and Accreditation
  • James Groves (MD) and Aimee Konieczny (CD) Indigo Swan Energy Brokers – Electricity: The State of The Market
  • Gin Lalli Solution Focused Therapist – Staff Wellbeing: How to Empty Your Stress Bucket
  • Nic Mayall President PMAS – Reflections
  • Hardip Devsi Scottish Government – Cladding Update
  • David Reid James Gibb – Cladding Update
  • Kyle Murtagh Confidence by Design – Presentation Skills and Public Speaking

Our teams had the following to say about the speakers!

Andrew Bulmer (IRPM):

“Andrew Bulmer provided a detailed insight on the merging of ARMA and IRPM. Working with PMAS to deliver the Professional Diploma in Property Factoring specifically for Scotland, Andrew also spoke of his work with IRPM to stand with Property Managers and start a poster campaign stating, “Property Managers are people too”.

On the hot topic of the energy market:

“Indigo Swan`s presentation on the current energy marker was very good, not only from a commercial perspective but also from a domestic perspective as they discussed the whole market.
James Groves and Aimee Konieczny’s session was insightful with lots of information on electricity, the reason behind prices increases, the impact the current dispute between Ukraine and Russia and how homeowners should make use of the Energy Bill Relief Scheme”

On Gin Lalli`s suggestions in relation to emptying your stress bucket:

“Gin delivered an interesting and engaging session here. I liked how the session focused on how your brain works and carrying forward past problems/stress can affect your mental health and work life balance. I feel this session was particularly useful for me given I am taking over a new team and feel this will aid me in getting to know my new team members and ensuring a healthy work life balance is created”

The PMAS conference was, from our team’s perspective, an excellent and informative day, which they enjoyed from start to finish, furthering their education and experience, along with allowing them to interact with other professionals in their industry, all of which can only benefit their ability to continually deliver 5-star service to our homeowner customers.

Our teams are on hand to assist our customers in maintaining their property and we are happy to meet with our existing, or potential, customers to offer any advice on a proactive approach to building maintenance.

If you would like to discuss how we can help with the maintenance of your property with us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
