Annual Report of Scottish Tribunals

The first annual report of The Scottish Tribunals prepared by the President of the Scottish Tribunals covering the period 1 December 2016 until 31 March 2018 has now been published. This can be found on their Annual Reports page.

The report identifies that in the 16 month period from 1st December 2016 until the 31st March 2018, Applications to the 1st Tier Tribunal have been received from 243 homeowners across Scotland. It is our understanding that there are currently in excess of 600,000 homeowners receiving factoring services throughout the country.

In this same period, the Housing and Property Chamber website identifies that Applications have been received and accepted by 3 of our homeowner customers, with 2 of the 3 Tribunals finding the Applications to be without merit, the tribunals confirming our services were delivered in keeping with our Terms of Service, the Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011 and its accompanying Code of Conduct for Property Factors.

As a leading Scottish Property Factor, we rely on the dedication, commitment, teamwork and expertise of all the people we employ across a wide and diverse range of roles throughout the firm. Without them, we would be unable to achieve such excellent service provision figures.

Our people are at the heart of how our business performs. Covering all aspects of the factoring process from our front line staff, through our support networks, we have dedicated teams of people working to deliver our vision, business ethos, factoring product and service that make a difference to our customers.
We understand the importance of teamwork, and to make this happen, we all have to commit to our vision and pull together as a team to make it happen. This is why our people are so important in everything we do.

At Hacking and Paterson we aim to deliver the best service to our customers. In event that our service does not meet our customers’ expectations, we are committed to investigating and doing our best to put the situation right for them.
