Charitable Giving Initiative 2022

samh

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we launched a Charitable Giving Initiative at the start of 2021 and are delighted that, over the course of the year, we were able to support 18 charities through fundraising and volunteering with a total amount of almost £18,500 being donated to good causes locally and nationally.

We will be continuing this initiative through 2022 and have asked our staff to nominate charities that are special to them and who will each receive a £500 donation over the coming year.

In addition to this, we are pleased to announce our corporate partnership with SAMH, Scotland’s mental health charity.

SAMH was founded in 1923 to provide support to a wide network of local associations for mental health and their work over the years has progressed to include representing the interests of people with mental health problems. The organisation has been able to develop new services, including mental health social care support, homelessness, addiction and employment support, amongst many others.  The varied projects SAMH operate in communities across Scotland are person-centred and based on an ethos of recovery.

SAMH’s work operates under three strategic goals of being there for people; promoting good mental health and ending stigma and discrimination.

We look forward to working with the charity throughout 2022 by helping with fundraising opportunities, raising awareness, and sharing information on the mental health support available to us.

In recognition of the importance of this relationship, we are delighted to donate £5,000 to help SAMH continue their great work across the country.

We have also committed to donating a further £5,000 this year to another charity partner, still to be determined, and we look forward to sharing further details about this second partnership in due course.

Finally, we are pleased to report that we were able to raise £472.60 for Comic Relief last week with an impromptu Red Nose Day dress down event and bake sale. Many thanks to all our staff for participating, particularly our resident bakers.  This heralds a very positive start to what we hope will be another successful year of fundraising for deserving causes.
