A team from Hacking and Paterson Management Services were delighted to attend The Property Institute (TPI) Scotland Connect Conference 2026, joining professionals from across Scotland’s property factoring sector for a day of conversation, collaboration and insight.
Held at the Hilton Glasgow, the conference brought the industry together to connect, share knowledge and explore some of the key topics currently shaping property management in Scotland.
Connecting the Property Management Sector
Throughout the day, speakers and industry experts explored a wide range of subjects, including Scottish housing policy, legal case studies, artificial intelligence, competency and procurement, communication and cladding remediation.
The InScotland LIVE session brought together voices from housing, policy and government to discuss the current landscape and the issues affecting Scotland’s housing and property sectors.
Legal case studies also provided practical insight into property factoring matters, including compliance, complaints and First-tier Tribunal cases – highlighting the importance of continually learning from developments across the profession.
Innovation and the Future of Property Management
Technology was another key theme, with a dedicated session exploring AI and its growing role within property management.
As technology continues to evolve, there are increasing opportunities to consider how new systems and tools can support property professionals and enhance the way services are delivered.
At Hacking and Paterson Management Services, the continued transformation of our own systems and processes forms an important part of ensuring we have the right platform in place to support our teams and customers into the future.
Building Safety and Professional Standards
The conference also explored competency and procurement, with a focus on professional standards and the responsibilities involved in managing buildings effectively.
Building safety remained an important part of the conversation, with representatives from the Scottish Government providing an update on the Cladding Remediation Programme, including the work taking place around building assessment, risk and remediation.
Together, these discussions reinforced the importance of knowledge, professional development and collaboration as our sector continues to evolve.
Representing the Industry
We were especially proud to see our Managing Director, David Doran, representing the wider profession in his role as Chair of TPI Scotland.
David’s involvement reflects a continued commitment to supporting progress within the property factoring profession, strengthening collaboration and contributing to the conversations surrounding its future.
For HPMS, being actively involved in the wider industry is an important part of our commitment to continually developing the services we provide to homeowners and communities across Scotland.
Looking Ahead
TPI Scotland Connect 2026 provided another valuable opportunity for our team to connect with industry colleagues, hear different perspectives and consider both the challenges and opportunities ahead.
From policy and legislation to technology, communication and building safety, the conference demonstrated the breadth of change taking place across our sector and the value of coming together to share knowledge and experience.
