HPMS Supports Major EV Infrastructure Rollout with Cosmic Charging

Cosmic Charging team and resident group

HPMS is proud to have played a key role in an exciting and innovative electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure project at Britannia Quay, one of the developments we factor. This landmark initiative — believed to be the UK’s largest fully-funded EV infrastructure project to date — was made possible through a successful collaboration between the Britannia Quay Property Association (BQPA), Cosmic Charging, and our dedicated property team.

The vision for bringing EV capability to Britannia Quay has been years in the making, with initial discussions between HPMS, the BQPA committee, and homeowners stretching back over five years. However, the project gained real momentum in the last 12 months when Cosmic Charging came on board, bringing with them the expertise and funding model needed to move things forward.

Today, every one of the 300+ private parking spaces at Britannia Quay has infrastructure in place to enable residents to install an EV charging point — powered by 100% green energy and delivering a cost saving of around 33p per kWh compared to the nearest public rapid charging facility. Remarkably, all of this was delivered at zero cost to the community.

This project stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a homeowners’ committee, property factor, and contractor work collaboratively toward a shared goal. While Cosmic Charging and BQPA led the operational delivery, HPMS provided a vital link between parties — managing communication with homeowners, coordinating project updates, supporting funding administration, and facilitating the necessary permissions.

The success of this initiative has not only enhanced the development’s sustainability credentials but also strengthened our relationships with residents and committee members. The collaboration with Cosmic Charging has been so positive that site surveys and consultations are now being arranged for other developments across our portfolio.

Well done to everyone involved — and congratulations to Cosmic Charging on reaching this massive milestone!
