British Red Cross – Ukraine Crisis Appeal

british red cross

As reported earlier this month, we are pleased to continue our Charitable Giving Initiative throughout 2022.  A number of our staff nominated the British Red Cross to support their Ukraine Crisis Appeal, and we are delighted our first donation will assist this very worthy cause.

The British Red Cross works to support anyone in crisis anywhere in the UK and partners with other Red Cross and Red Crescent societies around the world to prevent or ease human suffering.

Just over a month ago, the British Red Cross launched an emergency fundraising appeal to support the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other Red Cross partners working in border countries.

Millions of people in Ukraine are in an increasingly desperate situation, and the Red Cross is working to help those who need it most, having already distributed over 90,000 food and hygiene parcels and providing food, warm clothes and even first aid training to thousands more.

So far, the British Red Cross has helped more than 750,000 people since the conflict began, working within Ukraine itself as well as sending teams to bordering countries.  They have begun preparations to support refugees arriving in the UK and are primed to welcome people who have had to leave their homes and lives behind.

Our donation of £500 will help support people in several ways, from providing hygiene kits to families, sleeping mats and blankets to those who have been forced from their homes or help with running mobile healthcare services.

This month, we are hopeful our donation helps the Red Cross spread more of its crucial work to more people suffering through this terrible crisis.
