Construction and Supply Chain Pressures

Construction and Supply Chain Pressures

Our customers will be aware, through the extensive news coverage, of the continued difficulties being experienced by the construction industry.  Unfortunately, the contractors and service suppliers who undertake work for our customers are now being affected by these difficulties.  Many have reported ongoing disruption to building material supplies and labour shortages covering various trades, which are affecting their ability to complete works, increasing the associated costs and impacting their ability to schedule repairs as before.

One of the notable shortages is in general building supplies, such as timber and cement, which impact other roofing materials.  These shortages are resulting in delays in completing ongoing and reactive maintenance requests.

Contractors suggest that the current shortages are here for the foreseeable future and as demand returns to previous levels and pressure on supply increases, delays may continue for some time.  We are currently considering how this situation may impact our customers and intend communicating directly with those affected as and when required.

Whilst we hope to see an improving picture in 2022, we wish to thank all affected customers for their patience.

If you want to speak to your property factoring team about any ongoing or future work requirements, please contact us through the My H&P Portal or App, or give us a call on 0141 248 5693.
