Inspiring City Awards 2018

Hacking and Paterson Management Services sponsor the Legacy Award at the Inspiring City Awards 2018, in conjunction with Glasgow Chamber of Commerce

One of the top accolades on the night – the Legacy Award – supported by Hacking and Paterson, was won by Glasgow Tigers Speedway whose continued work to build a club for the local community and work to develop Glasgow’s youth shone.

Glasgow Tigers are the West of Scotland’s only professional speedway team and one of only a few motorsport venues in Scotland. Owners Gerry and Michael Facenna bought the Tigers in 2015 and are committed to building a club that will become an important part of the local community.

Glasgow Tigers are keen to encourage local talent to enter the sport. Future plans for the speedway organisation include try-out days and a speedway academy for aspiring young riders. They are also working with their co-occupants, Ashfield FC, to create a proactive youth football development programme. There are opportunities for individuals in the local community to participate in match day operations, providing voluntary or work experience and fund-raising opportunities for local clubs and associations.

Having presented the award to Glasgow Tigers Speedway, Partner of Hacking and Paterson, said:

“We were delighted to sponsor the Legacy Award for a third year and were delighted that Glasgow Tigers Speedway took this year’s honour. The calibre in this, and all other categories, was of a high standard and congratulations must go to all the award nominees who continue to showcase what makes Glasgow great.”
